About Blaine Garwood

Blaine Garwood is the founder and principal of BLG Consulting LLC and a Professional Geologist with more than 36 years of experience in environmental consulting, investigation, and remediation.

Throughout his career, Blaine has managed and conducted environmental investigations involving petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, hazardous substances, contaminated soil and groundwater, underground storage tanks, and a variety of commercial and industrial property uses.

His experience includes Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, subsurface investigations, groundwater monitoring programs, environmental site characterization, remedial investigations, corrective action planning, regulatory compliance, and remediation oversight.

In addition to extensive technical field experience, Blaine has held project management, division management, and business development leadership positions with environmental consulting, petroleum marketers, and remediation firms. These roles have involved managing complex environmental projects, coordinating with regulatory agencies, directing field investigations, supervising technical personnel and subcontractors, and developing practical solutions to environmental challenges.

This combination of technical experience, project management, and regulatory knowledge provides clients with a well-rounded perspective on environmental issues, from initial property assessment through investigation and corrective action.

As the owner and principal of BLG Consulting, Blaine remains directly involved in every project. Clients work with the professional responsible for conducting the assessment, interpreting the findings, and developing recommendations—not a succession of project managers or junior staff.
